You must not be guilty of unjust verdicts.

You must pass judgment on your neighbour according to justice.

We cannot just rely on our own edicts.

Or to tolerate injustice.

Fast from anger and be filled with patience.

Is the third prayer of Francis for Lent.

But how often are we filled with impatience.

Giving anger full vent .

We try to do better .

But it surges up in an instant.

For that moment patience is a dead letter.

Disappearing into the distance.

Pray let be me be patient .

Even if I just achieve it during Lent .

And being filled with patience

That’s not so easy
