Who can be saved then, they asked.

For men, Jesus told them, this is impossible.

Truth for us is so often masked.

For God everything is possible.

The pictures stretched out in the Priori Gallery.

Endless Madonnas, interest flagged .

And plenty of Calvary.

And feet sagged.

And then in front of one picture , the anthem  played.

Ave Maria Grazie  plena.

Suddenly the heart surged

Here was an end to all dilemma.

Here was no longer a joyless visit

Truth and faith were explicit.

For god possible
