Wednesday of the 3rd week in Lent

Do not imagine that I have come to abolish the law or the Prophets.
I have come not to abolish but complete them.
Let’s with him have no regrets.
Let’s be happy with every crumb.Till heaven and earth disappear.
Not one little stroke shall disappear from the the law.

We can banish fear.

We will find our true score.

The man who infringes even the least of these commandments.
Will be considered the least in heaven.
So we surrender some enchantments.
And view everything as a kind of leaven.

We hope we will be the man who keeps them then.
Then we will be considered great in the kingdom of heaven.

……..

We keep commandments
We hope to get to heaven
And hope it exits

How often must I forgive my brother if he wrongs me.
Not seven but seventy seven times.
Out of resentment can we break free.
However many the others’ crimes.

Can we forgive.
Even if we will never forget.
Can we move forward and live.
Or is our mind set.

The mind never moves on.
But our actions can do.
The past though is gone.
All that really matters is what is new.

Forget , no , maybe yes.
Forgive, yes, or no and finally yes.

……

How often forgive
Seventy seven times yes
So we do sometimes

I tell you solemnly.
No prophet is ever accepted in his own country.
We feel ourselves appreciated rarely.
We always feel behind all and sundry.

But does it matter.
If there is just one who appreciates us.
We seem a failure but we can climb that celestial ladder.
We just have to, at its first step, focus.

Elijah appeared to the Syrian Naaman.
Others were overlooked.
We are that man.
Our ascent is booked.

Our day will come eventually.
If all too slowly.

…….

A prophet is accepted
But not in his own country
There is always hope

See Luke 4 : 24-30

3rd Sunday in Lent

He was speaking of the sanctuary that was his body.
And when Jesus rose from the dead his disciples remembered.
At times our faith falls then holds steady.
Some word or action is recalled.
I wish had this faith in God’s existence.
Caring , loving.
Beyond all knowable sense.
Yet all knowing.
Jesus knew them all.
He could tell what a man had in him.
Doubting we yet are in thrall.
Without him we sink, with him we swim. Those who have complete faith are so lucky.
They don’t need to study or worry.

………

Jesus knew them all
But does he know all of us
So we hope and pray

See John 2 : 13-25

Saturday of the 2nd week in Lent

With shepherd’s crook , O Lord lead your people to pasture.
The flock that is your heritage.
Away from life’s pointless lure.
In an attempt to be sage.Help me always to not take offence,
To let harsh words flow over me.
To see in all tribulation some sort of sense.
So that I may better understand and see.

Let me remember the prodigal son.
He wandered off yet was loved all the more.
He like us are forgiven however far away we run.
And searched onto our very core.

People may be rude.
Just ignore them and take solace in the holy rood.

……

What’s more important.
To love all without restraint
Or be lonely

…..

See Micah 7

Friday of the 2nd week in Lent

For him I have accepted the loss of everything.
And I look on everything as so much rubbish.
But thoughts still will take wing.
Giving in weakly and weekly to every wish.Someone I thought was less than generous.
Then I remembered condemn and you will be condemned.
Am I not too ungenerous.
So better than to break is to mend.

I have not won.
But I am still running.
I am not done.
And not entirely failing .

Do not judge.
And they will not you, judge.

……..

If you accept loss
And accept it as rubbish
Then you may yet win

…….
