Stay with us.
Because it is towards evening.
Do we ask him on our Emmaus road to stay with us.
Are we just too busy with our own walking.

He took the bread.
And blessed and broke it.
No more need now be said.
The truth in his face is lit.

And their eyes were opened.
And they recognised him.
So long after, will our own eyes be opened.
We only walk alongside in spirit , can we recognise him.

And he vanished.
From their sight.
An encounter only briefly extinguished.
Yet an eternal spiritual light.
