Those who are sowing in tears.
Will sing when they reap.
We seem engulfed sometimes by fears.
We wonder if ever we will take the final great leap.

We really know nothing about St. George.
He lived in obscurity, died a horrible death.
But Edward 111 ensured that for England he was our forge.
He gives us hope and patriotic breath.

So if we fail.
And unknown die.
Who knows who will tell our tale.
Or where in people’s hearts we will lie.

St George is our patron saint.
And really we can say nothing true. About this saint.
Or at least anything which is true.
