Then from them , Joseph turned.
And wept.
Like him we often feel spurned.
Alone and bereft.

Joseph abandoned.
By his brothers in their jealousy.
Sold into slavery, cornered.
Well, all rather messy.

But he survived.
And he prospered.
Matured.
Recognised.

And finally showed mercy.
As he had not been given mercy.

And before his brothers wept
But did they repent
