The Lord is my light.
Whom shall I fear.
We ponder him during the long night.
He wipes away every tear.
I love to say compline before sleep.
Yesterday the prayer was particularly beautiful.
Of course we worry about our eternal sleep.
We toss, we turn ever fretful.
But it reminded us that Christ proceeded us to the grave.
And after rose again to eternal life.
He promised us he will lead us out of the grave.
And with him we will enjoy eternal life.
We really need not fear.
Or shed that nightly tear.

He led us first to the grave
But he rose after
