Philip said, Lord, let us see the father.
And then we shall be satisfied.
Our faith is as light as a wind driven feather.
Yet we go on seeking , tired, dispirited. We were reading about the road to Emmaus.
And that they only recognised him in the breaking of bread.
I always think that they’re like us:
Worldly doubts dragged them down like lead.
But they rushed back to the disciples.
Proclaiming the Lord is Risen.
Overcoming all questioning scruples.
Indeed they had seen no mere vision.
But we go on questioning.
And doubting yet occasionally accepting.
……..
The Emmaus road
Is for all time and for us
Hoping we walk it
…….
