My soul magnifies the Lord.
And my spirit rejoices in God my saviour.
Mary said yes and crossed redemption’s ford.
She alone ensured our saviour.

But why did she say yes.
She could have said no.
Do we say yes.
Or do we equivocate before saying no.

Was it just obedience.
Or deep trusting faith.
In her hymn, she shows  no reticence.
Just this extraordinary welcoming faith.

What would we have said.
Of what truly are we made
