Easter Saturday, 2021

Sonnet

Go out into the whole world.
And proclaim the good news to all creation.
He who was lost lives, the wings of doubt furled.
All week we have been celebrating the resurrection.

He appeared first to Mary, the first to receive.
Then to the disciples on the road as they walked.
Then in the room to those who would not believe
And finally by the side of the lake as they fished.

This is a triumphant week.
Full of glory revealed.
Can we not delight in these paschal mysteries as we seek.
Renewing in us unending joy and having it for ever sealed.

Soon we will be back in ordinary time.
Why can’t this week last for ever, let the bells chime.

Haiku

This triumphant week
Resplendent with all glory
Then let us delight
