Let the sea and all within thunder.
Let the rivers clap their hands.
Will the sails of our life be torn asunder.
Will we never reach calm lands.

The storm rises, the waves surge, will you live to tell the tale.
You can be filled with stress.
Or you can reef your sail.
You cannot control the waves or make them less.

You can sink beneath life’s wave.
Or you can ride it’s rage.
The sea does not consciously behave.
Stand still, close haul, head for port’s anchorage.

We cannot control what assaults the mind.
We just should not that much mind.

—-+++—-

We cannot control
The assaults on our own mind
We should just not care
