Do good to those who hate you.

A sentence echoing down the centuries.

Obeyed for as long as the Summers dew .

We pay lip service to this injunction.

But it’s nigh impossible to keep in the frame .

We do almost anything to avoid arriving at this junction.

We give Christians a bad name .

But listen to thee words, however woke .

Jesus said this to his disciples.

So it’s meant for so called Christian folk .

We’re not just here for  tuneful recitals .

All this is very hard .

That doesn’t mean it’s barred.
