Fasting like yours today.
Will never make your voice heard on high.
But we can at least pray.
And look ourselves in the eye.
I like Pope Francis’ exhortations.
They somehow seem possible to do.
And they are true foundations.
A sort of inspiring glue.
Less sadness.
Less pessimism.
Less selfishness.
Certainly that’s not sophism.
Perhaps more compassion.
And less fashion.
