Whatever situation I am to be content.
I know how to be brought low.
And I know how to abound.
And we pursue our own ascent.
Looking at life in the round.

We can take heart at St Paul’s teaching.
He learned the lesson of facing need.
He did all things through the Lord’s teaching.
In our hearts he has planted a seed.

I was waiting for an operation.
It was long delayed.
I felt comfort in this oration.
Doubt and fear allayed.

We can only run the race.
Hoping one day to see the Lord’s face.

In all our highs and our lows
It’s all we can do
