Blessed are the meek.
For they shall inherit the earth.
But the meek.
Don’t inherit the earth.

It would be nice if they did so.
But too often they’re rolled over.
They are just treated as the low.
And they take cover.

Do we follow the beatitudes.
Or pay lip service to them.
Depending on our moods and attitudes.
We follow or forget them.

But they are there.
Have no fear.
