You are the salt of the earth.
You are the light of the world.
Are we really the salt of the earth.
Or the light of the world.

In the same way let your light shine before others,
So that they may see your good works.
Do we really shine before others.
And what of our good works.

We ask ourselves , do we shine.
Are we salt that has lost its saltiness.
Do we tread the true spiritual line.
Or do we feel a doubting heaviness.

Are we that city set on a hill.
Or are we caught up in life’s grinding mill.

….

The salt of the earth
And the true light of the world
Is that really us
