Take, the Master said, what belongs to you.
I choose to give to this last worker.
As I give to you.
There is here then no shirker.

Am I, he said, not allowed to do what I choose.
Or do you begrudge me my generosity.
We really have nothing to loose.
If we accept our fate and every opportunity.

The key is not to be jealous.
If others get more than they deserve.
They may be lucky, lazy and we zealous.
But we should be happy being a mere reserve.

So the last really will be first.
And the first last.
